Cinzia’s advice to women in the corporate world who have dreams of opening their own businesses is that nothing is impossible, it can be done. You just need to have courage and perseverance.  If you have the inspiration and the willingness to do it, you can do it. The biggest hurdle Cinzia had to overcome was the worry about not having the security of a stable salary, but what she has learnt from the time she left corporate to opening and running the business has been phenomenal. It has really been a worldly experience for her.
 
Many entrepreneurs start out in business but only worry about the bookkeeping, finances and tax implications later. Cinzia recommends getting a good financial partner or accountant and laying the foundation for sound financial management up-front. She cautions that if you don’t have that in place you will close your doors within 6 months of opening so working capital is absolutely critical as this allows you to grapple costs which may not have been planned for initially but are essential in terms of the operating a start-up business successfully.

Cinzia also recommends that the entrepreneur have a sounding board, someone that they can trust and can bounce their ideas off. A person might be a great visionary and have brilliant ideas but they must be feasible to work. Someone with another view can add the practical perspective to the ideas.

Her message to women who are inspired to start their business is that they should do it without hesitation; obviously doing the homework and putting all the necessary things in place first. It is hard work but at the end of the day it is very rewarding. To the “Nay” Sayers, Cinzia invites them to speak to her and she will prove them wrong.
