Dear Reader

As I write this newsletter, I am attending a conference at GIBS titled, Women in Business: Beyond 2010. I have a number of thoughts from the conference that I wish to share with you.

Part of me is frustrated. My frustration stems from the familiarity of the complaints and issues that are being discussed. I remember what the conversations sounded like six years ago when I first started Women Inc. To a large degree the conversation is the same. Can it be true that we have not moved at all? Have companies not evolved? Transformed?

In my heart of hearts I know this cannot be true, and when I remove the initial emotion from it, I must acknowledge that we have changed - the world of work is not the same as it was six years ago. My clients have shifted and we have shifted (no matter how small the shift).

Please understand me, I am in no way minimising the challenges that women face in the workplace and the transformational work that still needs to be undertaken. We have work to do; but can we celebrate the steps that we have made, and the commitment by men and women alike to transforming our organisations for the good of all?

I have captured the key points from each keynote speaker and the debates. Please feel free to view these articles online. They are predominantly in the Leadership section under the “Leading Others” sub-section.

Have a wonderful week.

Rachel
