My Dear Readers
As I write this first note for 2010, I feel a great deal of affection for you all. It has been such a privilege to interact with you online and face-to-face. I am also very privileged to call many of you friends. Thank you for your feedback and comments on our articles, and thank you for your ongoing support of our organization.
As I consider the year ahead, I find myself wondering.
So few of us truly know what 2010 will hold. Despite the hype around the World Cup, we don’t know the real impact it will have on our nation and on our organizations. We can only hope and plan for possibilities. I sometimes wonder if the phrase, “If you build it, they will come” is our reality or an illusion. And yet, I cannot help but anticipate the possibilities of the year.
This is of course, not only linked to the World Cup – but so much more. Our economy appears to be stabilising and the demand for greater productivity and effectiveness in the workplace continues to grow. Amidst all of this, I delight in the fact that we are able to build a business that speaks to these and many other issues through our articles, and our training and consulting practice. The possibilities I envision for 2010 are not only possibilities for companies and communities but possibilities for individuals too. In my own life, I find myself starting this journey looking in – clearly mapping a journey that will yield a different outcome through the course of the year. I love the articles that we have published online because they help me map this journey with wisdom and strategy. The joy of the online medium is that you can access the articles you need, as and when you need them. I hope that our archives become valuable resources for you – both organizationally and personally. Here’s to 2010 – I’m glad to walk it with you. With much affection
Rachel
