Dear Reader
The World Cup is imminent. As we embrace this life-changing series of events one can only wonder what the outcome will be. Many of us carry hopes and others carry suspicions about it all. No matter what each one of us thinks about it, the truth remains: We will only fully understand the impact of 2010 IF we experience the games, play with the tourists, and laugh and cry together. Then with 20:20 vision, we can assess the impact and decide whether or not it stood up against our expectations.
In my mind, life is similar. We all embark on this life journey with hopes and expectations, and possibly some concerns and fears. The reality remains that only by embracing life fully will we have any chance of seeing our hopes realised. We could potentially walk a middle line, playing it safe, keeping our distance – but I am convinced that our experience of such a life will be average or second-hand.
My exhortation for you this week is to embrace the life you have fully. Don’t settle for second best: sure, there is risk, but as my favourite survivalist Bear Grylls says, “If you risk nothing you gain nothing.”
Enjoy the read!
