Why should we all be excited you say?
I can give you a million reasons hey.
But because of time and space I will focus on only a few,
The rest, really, is up to you.
So I’m going to tell you why I love SA,
And you can decide whether you feel the same way.

South Africa is a beautiful place,
With good weather and lots of open space.
Friendly is part of who we are,
This place has set a very high bar.
Forget Australia, America and Spain,
Their accents will make me go insane.

We have slang and other stuff only us Saffa’s know.
Like ayoba and howsit and shows like in Isidingo.
Yet, there are things the world knows about too,
Like Nelson Mandela and what he can do.
He showed the world what it means to forgive,
He taught us all a lesson on how to live.

We drive on the left side of the road,
Here your mind seems to have a lighter load.
We may have 11 official languages we speak,
That’s a part of our charm, we are not meek.
We’re sharing and enjoy entertaining people by ons se huis,
And love to enjoy a braai with some lekker vleis.

This is now a part of our story,
We will be here when Bafana Bafana brings back the glory.
Ok, that may not be entirely true,
But we will still love them for what they can do.
Win or lose, united we shall stand,
A part of history, the story of our land.

Now that the World Cup is finally here,
It’s time to drink some, (and by that I mean litres of), Castle beer.
For our country I will cheer,
My vuvuzela you will hear.
I hope this amazing feeling lives on,
Then we as a nation will have truly won.
