What challenges do you feel women face in the workplace?

The pressure of work/life balance has escalated with technology. The world of work has not yet caught up with the fact that we do not need to always be in the office to complete our work.

Women taking time off for family stages can either be detrimental to their career path or take them on a completely new trajectory.

Does any particular woman stand out to you as a brilliant leader? Why?

I admire all kinds of leaders. Each of us has a different nature, profile or strength. Women, who rise above adversity in their lives, share and make a difference and care for others.

What unique value do you think a woman brings to the workplace?

Women are nurturing and care more about those around them. Conversation and collaboration is natural for women.

What advice would you give someone starting out in their life/career?

Be true to who you are and love what you do. Work is about discovering your best fit so that work feels like play rather than work.

We will need to continue to earn and work for much longer in the 21st century so it is vital to love what you do.
Build good boundaries and self-discipline as the 24/7/365 world of work can consume you if you do not learn to manage it.

What has been the hardest lesson you have learnt in business?

Sometimes what we love within our work changes and it is out of our control. At that point making a decision to leave what you love because the changes happening are out of your control, is a necessary action for a better future.

What are the secrets of your success?

Always trying to be true to who I am and finding work to match that rather than just working because I need money.

Connecting with people and trying to help them to connect with others and in this way build a strong network that has enabled my work journey.

Taking risks.
